Email History

Track every email sent by ReturnNudge with detailed delivery logs.

Overview

The Email History page provides a complete log of every email sent by your ReturnNudge account. This includes service reminders, birthday emails, and broadcast emails. Use it to monitor delivery, troubleshoot issues, and understand your email activity.

Viewing Email History

  1. Navigate to Email History in the sidebar.
  2. Browse the chronological list of all sent emails (newest first).
  3. Click on any email subject to preview the full email in a popup.

Daily Usage

At the top of the page, a usage bar shows your daily email activity:

  • Sent today — Number of emails sent so far today
  • Remaining — How many sends are left in your daily quota
  • Progress bar — Visual indicator of usage (green under 80%, yellow at 80%+, red at 100%)

When you're approaching or at your daily limit, a link to upgrade your plan is shown.

Email Log Table

Each row in the table shows:

Column Description
Customer The recipient's name (links to their customer page)
Type Email type badge — Reminder, Birthday, or Broadcast
Subject The email subject line (click to preview)
Status Delivery status badge
Sent At When the email was delivered

Email Statuses

Status Description
Pending Email is queued and waiting to be sent
Sent Successfully delivered
Failed Delivery failed (see error details in the preview)
Bounced Email bounced back from the recipient's mail server
Throttled Email was skipped due to daily sending limits

Email Preview

Click on any email subject to open a preview showing:

  • To — The recipient's email address
  • Type and Status badges
  • Sent at timestamp
  • Email body — The full rendered email content
  • Error message — If the email failed, the reason is shown
  • Message ID — The email provider's tracking identifier (if available)

Searching and Filtering

Use the filter options at the top to narrow down your email history:

  • Type pills — Filter by Reminders, Birthdays, or Broadcasts
  • Status pills — Filter by Sent or Failed
  • Customer dropdown — Search and select a specific customer
  • Date range — Set a "from" and "to" date to filter by time period
  • Search — Search by customer name or email address

Filters can be combined. A Clear button appears when any filters are active.

Email Types

Type Description
Service Reminder Automated emails sent when a customer's service is due
Birthday Automated birthday greeting emails
Broadcast One-time promotional or announcement emails

Troubleshooting

If a customer says they didn't receive an email:

  1. Check the email history to confirm the email was sent (status shows Sent).
  2. If the status shows Failed, click the subject to see the error message.
  3. If the status shows Bounced, the recipient's mail server rejected the email. The customer has been automatically marked as bounced and won't receive further emails until their address is updated. See Customers — Bounced Emails for details.
  4. If email sending has been paused for your account due to a high bounce rate, a red banner will appear on every page. Visit your Settings page to view your bounce rate and resume sending after resolving the issue.
  5. Verify the customer's email address is correct.
  6. Ask the customer to check their spam/junk folder.
  7. Ensure the customer hasn't unsubscribed from that email type.
