What is ReturnNudge?
ReturnNudge is a customer retention platform for local service businesses. It automatically sends reminder emails when customers are due for a service and birthday emails to build personal connections — helping you bring customers back without manual effort.
Who is ReturnNudge for?
ReturnNudge is designed for local businesses that provide recurring services, such as:
- HVAC companies
- Dental and medical practices
- Auto repair and maintenance shops
- Salons and spas
- Home services (plumbing, electrical, pest control)
- Pet grooming and veterinary clinics
- Any business where customers need to return periodically
Do I need technical skills to use ReturnNudge?
No. ReturnNudge is designed to be simple and intuitive. If you can send an email and fill out a form, you can use ReturnNudge. The onboarding wizard guides you through the entire setup process.
Emails
When are reminder emails sent?
Reminder emails are sent automatically based on the reminder interval you set for each service. For example, if you set a 12-month interval and a customer's last service was on January 15, they'll receive a reminder email on or around January 15 of the following year.
Can customers unsubscribe from emails?
Yes. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Customers can choose to unsubscribe from specific email types (service reminders, birthday emails, news & broadcasts) or all emails. You can also manage their preferences from their customer detail page.
What happens if an email bounces?
ReturnNudge tracks delivery status. If an email bounces, it will be noted in the Email History. Check the customer's email address for typos and update it if needed.
Can I customize the look of my emails?
Yes. You can customize the subject line and body text for both service reminders and birthday emails. Your business logo and branding are automatically applied. See Email Templates for details.
Is there a daily email limit?
Yes, each plan has a daily email sending limit to ensure good deliverability. Check your plan details on the Billing page. The Dashboard shows your current daily usage.
Customers
How do I add customers?
You can add customers in three ways:
- Manually — Add them one at a time from the Customers page
- CSV Import — Upload a spreadsheet of customers
- Kiosk Mode — Let customers register themselves at your location

Can I import customers from another system?
Yes. Export your customer data as a CSV file from your current system, then use ReturnNudge's CSV import feature. Download our sample template to see the expected format.
What happens when I reach my customer limit?
When you reach your plan's customer limit, you won't be able to add new customers until you either remove existing customers or upgrade your plan. Existing customer emails will continue to be sent normally.
Account
Can I have multiple team members?
Yes. All plans support team members — Starter allows up to 5, Growth up to 10, and Business has unlimited team members. See Team Management for details.
How do I change my plan?
Go to Account > Billing > Change Plan. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. See Billing & Subscriptions for details.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, you can cancel at any time from the Billing page. Your account remains active until the end of your billing period. See Billing & Subscriptions for details.
Is my data secure?
Yes. ReturnNudge uses industry-standard security practices including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure data storage
- Regular security updates
- Role-based access control
Kiosk Mode
How does Kiosk Mode work?
Kiosk Mode provides a simple registration form on a tablet or device at your business. Customers enter their own information to sign up. See Kiosk Mode for setup instructions.
Is Kiosk Mode secure?
Yes. Each kiosk session uses a unique, secure token. You can end sessions at any time, and customer data is saved directly to your secure account.
What if a customer enters incorrect information in the kiosk?
You can edit any customer's information from the Customers page. Review new kiosk registrations periodically to ensure data quality.
